Loofah & Cellulose Cleaning Sponge
The Loofah & Cellulose Cleaning Sponge is the plastic-free way to wipe and scrub with one sponge: a soft cellulose side for everyday cleaning and a natural loofah side for light scrubbing, non-scratch and quick to dry. Pretty enough to leave by the sink, sturdy enough to earn its spot there.

I was worried that the bathroom loofahs were too flat, but they puffed up with water like magic. I’m happy to not be using plastic anymore! It is not good for you or the planet.

I ordered one of these as a back up in case I couldn't make the switch to the pure loofah sponge but those ended up totally wowing me so I truthfully haven't used this sponge too much! Can't comment on longevity because of that, but the design is very much like a traditional plastic-based sponge. The spongey side performs and feels exactly like you would expect and the scrubby loofah side also performs as expected. I'm very happy with it and will use it till it falls apart but I'm planning on sticking with the pure loofah sponges from here on out!
This is a very sturdy set of sponges; I can tell how good the quality is just from the feel and durability of the natural material. I really appreciate being able to find eco conscious options for household items like this. :)

Unfortunately, the sponge is too stiff for washing dishes, even after a week of use. I switched to loofah/cellulose combination sponges years ago, as I love them for dish washing. But the loofah side of these sponges barley bends at all, so it's not possible to clean inside the curves, nooks or crannies of ordinarily dishes. The point of using a sponge, rather than a brush, is for the sponge to make contact with every surface of the dish, but that's not possible.
**UPDATE: The seller/artisan, upon reading my review, contacted me to offer me options to resolve this, including a full refund, which I received promptly. So I wanted to add a rave review for her warm and excellent customer service! I would buy from this person again...just not this product. ;)
